You need two: the client for the computer you are at, and the agent for each computer you want to reach.
Your operating system
Windows
For the computer you are at
Windows client
Run it. Nothing to sign up for.
- ARM version
- Or use your browser — nothing to install.
- Windows will warn you: click More info → Run anyway. We have not bought a signing certificate yet.
For the computer you want to reach
Windows agent
Double-click, then press Install.
- ARM version
- For servers, no window: command-line agent (ARM)
macOS
For the computer you are at
Mac client
Unzip it and drag it to Applications.
- Apple Silicon only (M1 and later). On an Intel Mac, use your browser instead.
- Homebrew:
brew install --cask ptrinh/relaykey/relaykey-client
For the computer you want to reach
Mac agent
One command sets it up. Works on Intel too.
- Intel version
- Or:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/ptrinh/relaykey-public/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh - Homebrew:
brew install ptrinh/relaykey/relaykey-agent
Linux
For the computer you are at
Use your browser
There is no Linux app. The browser does everything except forward a port.
- Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Works on a phone or tablet too.
For the computer you want to reach
Linux agent
One command sets it up as a service.
- ARM version — Raspberry Pi, Graviton
- Or:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/ptrinh/relaykey-public/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh - Homebrew:
brew install ptrinh/relaykey/relaykey-agent
Then pair them
In the client, press Add machine to get a code.
Enter that code on the other computer.
Check the six digits match on both screens, then accept.
Whoever pairs with the agent can do anything to that computer, so only install it on computers you look after, and never share the code. More on this.
